In following with APS’s move last week to lower the rebate for installation of solar systems, SRP announced that effective at midnight on April 9th they too will be lowering their rebate for solar from $2.70/Watt down to $2.15/Watt, matching the reduction that APS announced just last week. All solar prospects who have SRP as their electric provider who sign an agreement by midnight on April 9th will still receive the rebate at $2.70/Watt. Consumers who are investigating putting solar on their roofs to reduce the cost of electricity will see a significant increase in the cost of their systems as a result of these rebate reductions. Many consumers are making the decision to install solar because of both the utility company rebates and the federal and state tax credits.
